Yesterday I mentioned that I had been hard at work makings some pretty sweet editions to the handmade shop. I've been dying to share this with you guys for over a week, so if you've been following me of instagram of twitter you may have seen several previews of what's coming. Marli's fourth birthday is a month away and she's been begging me for some new play food. We've gone through so much plastic and cardboard food and it always ends up disgusting or destroyed, so I hate spending the money. Why buy more junk? I decided that I was going to make her some new kitchen food, somehow, someway. I thought about fabric and felt, and then it clicked, crochet play treats! I can wash them and they aren't dangerous when thrown, perfect! I took a whack at it and ended up becoming obsessed. I taught myself all kinds of new tricks and stitches and ended up with a really great set of treats for my daughter.Since posting a few photos to show my friends and family I've gotten a great response, four orders of various treats! I have had such wonderful feedback and encouragement so I decided that I will be listing them in the shop soon. I haven't quite decided if ! should list them as groups or individually, what do you guys think?
I've also been working on a few personal projects. Marli wanted me to make her a blankie awhile back so I've been trying to slip it in between orders, just to give my eyes something different to stare at.
I've also been knitting this heart patterned scarf. By the time I'm finished with it it will probably be 85 degrees outside, but I love having a little busy work that I can always come back to.
A few more granny squares for a blanket I'm making for our master bedroom!
Hopefully I have a very productive weekend and I'm wishing you the same!
